One day I was in the kitchen with my family using healthy coconut cream and decided to whip together this recipe for a sweet dessert topper. This may be something you would like to try on top of a cupcake, cake, or even just as a side dish to add to coffee or ice cream. The coconut cream frosting could go nicely atop the Paleo Vanilla Cupcakes, to add a some exciting and delicious flare

It is known that coconut fats are VERY healthy fat options, meaning that this just may be the perfect dessert to indulge in when on the paleo diet. With having just six simple ingredients, this creamy frosting can be whipped up in no time! Don’t worry about veering from the paleo lifestyle when starting out, there are so many fun recipes like this one, that will satisfy your sweet cravings, without having to break from the diet and the healthy way of life and eating.

1 can coconut cream

½ cup raw honey (may adjust according to preferred sweetness)

1 pinch salt

5 teaspoons arrowroot powder

1 tablespoon water

¾ cup coconut oil


  1. In a medium saucepan, heat coconut milk, honey and salt, simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, combine arrowroot and water to form a smooth paste.
  3. Pour arrowroot mixture into saucepan.
  4. Mix contents of saucepan with a hand blender. Whisk vigorously to combine, then bring to a boil, briefly, until shiny.
  5. Remove pot heat and very gradually blend in coconut oil with a hand blender.
